Don "Stew" Stewart, who was deputy chief of staff to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, will oversee government affairs and communications at the Association of Global Automakers. He starts March 25 as executive vice president of public affairs, a newly created role. Stewart has worked for the Kentucky Republican since 2006, and previously was a staffer for another current Republican senator, John Cornyn of Texas.

The National Association of Realtors hired two executives for its communications team. Mantill Williams is VP of public relations and communication strategy. He had been director of advocacy communications for the American Public Transportation Association.
Susan Welter has joined NAR as VP of creative and content strategy.

Annemarie McDonald Oxman has been named chief people officer of the National Business Aviation Association. Previously, Oxman was director of human resources for the American Petroleum Institute.

Callie Hoyt and Clay Crabtree have been named directors of federal government relations at the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

Amanda Eversole was named EVP of the $207M-revenue American Petroleum Institute, with responsibility for overseeing day-to-day operations and leading a strategic planning process. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce alum joined API last fall as COO.

James Hoecker is retiring as executive director of WIRES, the electric transmission trade association, at the end of 2019. Hoecker is also senior counsel at Husch Blackwell.
